its good

Very original intro, bass drum is nice, well-balanced, the synth parts and fx all go well together, don't see much work needed on this part. The crash cymbal is good, sounds like a techno classic. Synth parts on :50 are nicely done, snare needs some processing though, kinda killed the synth part. The snare however does integrate nicely on balance terms, my suggestions: get a new snare sound, some pads would be nice, or choir, anything that can back up the happyness on the synth parts. Excellent timing too,

overall, great job!

9/5

yoo thx for your comments, your the 3rd to tip me on my snare, so I will change it. I will search for some pads, im not very good at choirs, I need a new sound pack for that. Wait for the full version :)

ok ill write on this one

So since this is a pretty complicated piece Ill break it down, first the things that could be improved on.

First off, the filtered funk guitar sound throughout the whole song is just too loud, it takes away from the style of the piece, its not good as a lead instrument, and for a bg instrument its too loud. When the bass comes in, both being pretty loud it turns pretty inaudible, if anything heres where the guitar should be a little more silent. Also, the guitar dies out immediately, and being so loud its very abrupt/akward. The Rhodes playing is great! This is an example of a mis-balanced piece in the song. The rhodes should be louder than the bass here, as its the most important thing going on in the piece (the higher part) the new funk guitar that was introduced was great, shoula've kept that going the whole way through. The bass was very nicely done though, with the exception of the balance issue, everything came together pretty nicely, intro is very nicely done... for a bit then completely cuts off, as if it were rushed, I think the transition could use a little work. On the good stuff, the drums are excellently done, as is the bass. Sounds very Daft Punk (one of my favorite artists), its a good enough lenght, loved the jazz integration in there with the rhodes, good use of synth fx throughout the whole song, good timing, pleasing song to hear.

So again, my suggestions: Balance the guitar in the beginning, or bring it down a bit on volume once the bass enters, once the Rhodes comes in, bring the bass down and the Rhodes up, bring the overall bass sound a little down for distortion purpouses.

Overall, great job! the only problems were of balance, the actual song is very nicely done!

8-4 here

Hey man thanks alot for your time and this great review, I learned alot about what i should tweak and hopefully my next soound will be bette. And to be compared to Daft Punk O_o im honored they rock, probly cuz of em that i luv music soo much. ty again =D

Ps: i was more or less halfdrunk when i made this 1 lol.

good playing

bad timing, repetitive as well, both stars out,

on the timing issue, the rythym guitar is going faster than the tempo on the lead guitar sound, the bd/crash cymbal is out of tempo with the (snare?) im not sure what that sound under it is but it makes it sound out of time, like a flam almost

good sounds going there though, loved the drum sounds and the lead guitar, the rythym guitar should come out a bit more

8/4 for repetitiveness, (i know its a loop, in that case just upload the looping part, no sense in having to make us cut it short ourselves)

Killers123 responds:

Thank you very much, and hope you check out some of my newer work later on. :D

wow i missed this one

Sweet sounding track, is this like your other one? I feel like ive heard it before but I thought I reviewed it, no? Oh well, excellent job, bass is perfect, melody is well varied throughout the song, the Arabic progression typically can be very flexible since just about any key will sound good with it, very well made!

im trying to come up with some stuff, feel free to check out some of mine!

easily a 10 -5

neoloconick responds:

Yea you did vote on my other one. Thanks a lot for the review.

personally

I found the whole thing to be enjoyable, with the exception of a few high-bell sounds here and there, really well done song though, 9/10 for some oddly high bell sounds, 5/5 for a beautiful arrangement

1zin1 responds:

I'm not sure what high bell sounds you mean..
I bet it's the piano at some point might become high sounding with all the clutter of noise ^^

cool stuff

Personally i've never heard the original, but this sounds pretty good for its own, the beginning I think is a little overtaken by the guitar, however I felt the end was just great, very ambient, very balanced, very pro.

Good job! 9/5

JohnLithium responds:

For better or for worse, that was the effect I was going for.
As usual, thank you very much. :)

pretty sweet

Sounds like something one would hear at the end of an RE or SH game with a good ending, my only complaint was that it sounded a bit hesitant, in other words a little choppy, as if you had improvised it and was thinking out the next chord, however nice chords, good technique, liked the octave jumps, added variety to the mix, I also advice going against the straight quarter notes style, add a little flair, a little trill or some different rythyms, good for what it is though, great potential, 1 star for pauses, 1 star for straight pattern,

8-4, went down a number for the lack of a strong/moving bass, felt as if the left hand was being left out (no pun intended)

JohnLithium responds:

In the future, I'll probably try to incorporate more 'rhythm variation' into piano compositions (if I submit any more). The 'hesitation' aspect was mostly intentional (although I can see where you are coming from).

well ill say it

There's nothing really from you I disliked, everything sounds professional, well processed drum sounds, nice transitions, although the drums were a bit off with the rhythm guitar, overlookable though, very nice all the way, excellent variation on the whole song, nver gets boring

10/5

Phishrcool42 responds:

Thank you yet again. Ya, I thought I might have noticed that, but I had done enough work on the song I was just ready to move on. I'll keep it in ind for the future, though.

another great one..

Good stuff here, can't wait for the next album, very original arrangement on this one, again excellent job on the clav, not an easy patch/instrument to pull off, hmm I would like to hear you on the Rhodes though, my only measly complaint--turn the volume up a bit, it does wonders to the energy coming out of it. I did and it was suddenly very pro. sounding. Loved the Funky Town bassline, pretty strong stuff too. Well done!

10/5

Phishrcool42 responds:

Good idea. This is one of my favorite songs solely for is fun riding bass. I'll try to keep up the good work!

loop?

Its a bit long for a loop seeing as how it repeats itself within the song, i liked the progression overall, reminds me of that song, "turn the beat around"? something like that, anyway, nice job, 8/10 its good for a short game loop, 4/5 for only 2 dimensions to the song

paavi0 responds:

yes its bit long but i think if it meant to repeat itself over and over again i think its a loop... enyway thanks for listening. and i hope you got my point.
