beautifully done

Incredible stuff, is the guitar track a sample? Regardless, great mic work with the vocals (very clear), the strings are incredibly done with the guitar part, just overall excellent, just wish it were longer..., though this is the kind of stuff rap needs nowadays, excellent job again

10-5

war-spawn responds:

It's a combination between a Rurouni Kenshin sample and some of my own work. The strings are the same thing. I added extra notes in, as well as filtered to give a sorta lo-fi feel to it. I'm glad you enjoyed it. ^.^

reverb makes for good new age

But the reverb's nothing to worry about here, good chord progression, could'ave used a stronger lead, some beautiful chords here, not much else to say, my suggestion: bring out the lead a little stronger, it sounds oh so shy!

9-5 for lenght, good chords

Reeez responds:

thank you ... beautiful chords^^ ...

great remake of classic

for the lenght I wont take out, to make a good arrangement like that, any time is precious enough, loved the grace note riffs there with the guitar, very smooth-- no real big speaker distortion, like all the others, would love to hear it expanded, or at least a harmony with another guitar, give us anything a 4th a 6th a 7th! lol

great job!

10-5

Yes i quieted down the guitar so it wouldnt create so much static because of the distortion. I would rather have less distortion and better quality then heavy distortion and not be able to hear it. Thanks for the great review :D

lets break it down

So, this was very nicely done for being an FL studio, excellent actually, just a few words of advice (btw this is what the Hip-Hop needs in these days, a mix of old and new) The bass felt just a little bit too powerful when heard in relation to the organ and the voice (although, nothing to worry about with the voice, it defenitely adds its ingredient just well enough), the organ is very nicely placed, the bass and beat argue with each other for just a bit (in other words fighting for being the loudest) again a quick volume change in either will fix the balance here, the song is well thought out and long enough, not too short. Good use of vocals and Rythym Organ. So my suggestions again, mix around with the volume of both the bassline and the drum-track to find a good balance
Overall, very nicely thought out piece,

9-5 on this one

phosphorusprocedure responds:

Thanks, man! I'll work on those volume levels. Peace, bro!

needs more

If this is a beginner track, then a lot of things can be forgiven, however here are some good things and bad things of the song, first the bad

1. the sounds (although this point is forgivable using FL studio seeing as how ALL of their sounds are pretty MIDI-sounding)

2. the beat is ok, needs more variation, or at least more ingridients to it, maybe a triangle?

3. needs a bass-line, or anything low to balance out the high stuff, you tried with the bass drum but... it ended up overpowering the synth

the good stuff

Sounds though out, not a random piece in other words, it sounds like something

suggestions: vary out the synth a bit, don't let it be so atonal, course unless thats what your shooting for, add either a hi-hat or triangle to the beat, a lot of white space needing to be filled out, balance out the sounds, bass drum too loud and yet not enough bass freq.

all in all, good for a beginner, below average for an FL veteran

7/3 for the effort and lenght

JuzZ1Lucifer responds:

Thnx! I'm gonna take your advice to heart. I'll see what I can do. I actually just got fruity loops just a little while ago. So I'm still gettin' used to it.

pretty good for screwing around..

The first 1min/half were enjoyable on its own, very JHX style, but does drag on a bit,
The actual song which starts around 2:00 is very nicely done with the exception of VERY minor timing problems i.e between the rythym guitar/snare/bass
The solo is nice, kinda sounds like nothing was left to do though since most of its badass went to the intro,
The drums were nice, could use a little more crash/hi-hat to get that crunchy feel, hell more drums overall would be good (in volume I mean) could be a little more agressive with the tempo too.

Overall: Very nicely put together, there were some nice moments (particularly the intro)
my suggestions: stronger drum track in volume and in number with the crash and hi-hat,
thats about it

9-5 on this one

Thanks, you should check out my newest submission.

just no good

Sorry but this didn't quite do too well, although I can see the point of the song (obvious chaos), the actual song components are not good, too much bg noise taking away from anything good, nothing works well with each other, no structure whatsoever, badly distorted sounds
my suggestions for next time : don't smoke whatever you did when you made this one

3/10 for the concept of chaos
1/5, not quite ear bleeding, but close

There's no doubt people find this a useless review, it's written right underneath it in that grey text. Everyone needs to read that. "People think this is a useless review" "People think this is a useless review" "People review think this is useless" "I think review people is useless" "People think you're useless" "You're USELESS" USELESS USELESS USELESS USELESS. What kind of name is Flash MX? That's the name of a program to make bad videos with. I heard your music, you're a snob. Wax'd

right timing

But thats about all I could pick out, ever play Medievil? Very similar to one of its tracks (the progression I mean), good job for doing your own drum track though, a lot of the music on here (including mine) uses drum tracks, so kudos for that. Nice acoustic sounding stuff, very Danny Elfman style with the piano too, good job over all, suggestions: use a metronome when playing and when listening to playback, will def. help with timing.

9/5 here, good job

Kaz666 responds:

Many thx for the good review. It sure is an honor to be compared with Danny Elfman, one of my favourite computer game music composers. But it's true, I should have used a metronome. Next time I'll do better.

driving beat

Its very nicely done, the beat is always there driving the piece, and the sounds are very nicely processed, good chemistry between all the different instruments used, excellent variation on the melody, felt it was a little muted though, not sure if its an excessive use of filter, or just too much bass frequency on the EQ, overall the song was excellent, my suggestions: bring the bass-freq down on EQ, or don't use as much filter with the drums

9/5 here

Mesosade responds:

Note Taken, Thanks :D

love horror

and loved this piece, good use of bells, good use of bass elements, only thing is I felt it could have a little more synth-fx, but thats just in my opinion, not really a necessary thing. Did however feel that it needed something strong in there, or soemthing of a pseudo-lead, either some low-volume synth lead or something, for more patient listeners this isn't necessary, but it wont capture everyones attention with just a complete bass ambience. Again, thats just my opinion, this track was great as is,

10-5, nothing essential missing

TheLobsterman responds:

thanks for the advice, ill remember it for the future installments. hope you keep tuning in, tell your friends ;)
